Exchange and returns

We stand behind the quality and craftsmanship of every Lorena Morales Studio piece and want you to feel confident in your purchase. We also understand that, occasionally, a piece may not work for you as expected. When that happens, we are here to help.

Eligible items may be returned or exchanged within 15 calendar days of delivery.

Lorena Morales Studio is an independent studio creating wearable art in small quantities. Because our collections are limited, replacement sizes, colors, textiles, or identical pieces may not always be available.

The nature of handmade work

Each Lorena Morales Studio garment incorporates textiles woven by hand on traditional foot-treadle looms. Guided by human hands rather than industrially reproduced, no two textiles or finished garments will be exactly alike.

Subtle variations in the weave, texture, color, pattern, and placement of the textile are natural characteristics of handmade work. These distinctions are part of the character and story of each piece and are not considered defects.

We photograph our pieces as accurately as possible. However, colors may appear differently depending on lighting, photography, and the settings of your phone, computer, or other screen.

Because the textiles are handwoven and individually placed, the pattern and color placement of the garment you receive may vary slightly from the piece shown online.

By purchasing from Lorena Morales Studio, you acknowledge and accept the individual characteristics and natural variations inherent in handmade textiles and small-quantity production.

Return and exchange eligibility

To qualify for a return or exchange, the item must be:

• Unworn, unused, unwashed, and unaltered
• Free from stains, fragrance, makeup, pet hair, or other signs of wear
• Returned with all original tags attached
• Returned in its original packaging
• Approved for return before it is shipped back

Items that do not meet these requirements will not be accepted.

To qualify for a return or exchange, the item must be:

Items not eligible for return or exchange

The following items are final sale and cannot be returned or exchanged:

• Made-to-order pieces, including the Kimono Mitla
• Custom or personalized items
• Gift cards
• Items marked “Final Sale”

If a final-sale item arrives damaged, has a genuine manufacturing defect, or is not what you ordered, please contact us according to the instructions below.

The following items are final sale and cannot be returned or exchanged:

• Made-to-order pieces, including the Kimono Mitla
• Custom or personalized items
• Gift cards
• Items marked “Final Sale”

If a final-sale item arrives damaged, has a genuine manufacturing defect, or is not what you ordered, please contact us according to the instructions below.

Kimono Mitla and made-to-order pieces

The Kimono Mitla is created specifically after an order is placed. Customers select their preferred textile at checkout and receive a sizing form by email.

Using the measurements, usual size, and fit preference provided, Lorena Morales Studio will recommend the most appropriate size from S–XL. Before production begins, the customer will be asked to confirm the recommended size, selected textile, and made-to-order final-sale terms in writing.

Once confirmation is received, the selected textile will be reserved and production will begin.

For this reason, the Kimono Mitla and other made-to-order pieces are final sale and are not eligible for return, exchange, or refund. Once the order details have been confirmed and production has begun, customer-requested changes or cancellations cannot be accepted.

The finished length of the Kimono Mitla is standard and cannot be customized because it is determined by the dimensions of the handwoven textile.

Please complete the sizing form carefully and review the recommended size, textile selection, and production details before providing written confirmation.

If a made-to-order piece arrives damaged, has a genuine manufacturing defect, or is not what was confirmed, contact us at hello@lorenamoralesstudio.com within 3 calendar days of delivery. Please include the order number, a description of the issue, and clear photographs so we can review the situation and make it right.

If we are unable to ship the piece within the stated production time, we will provide a revised estimated shipping date and the option to accept the delay or cancel the unshipped order for a full refund.

Starting a return or exchange

To request a return or exchange, email hello@lorenamoralesstudio.com within 15 calendar days of delivery.

Please include:

• Your name
• Your order number
• The item you would like to return or exchange
• The reason for the request
• The replacement size or item requested, if applicable

Once your request has been reviewed and approved, we will email you return instructions. Items returned without prior authorization will not be accepted.

Approved items must be shipped within 7 calendar days of receiving the return instructions. Returns shipped after that period may not be accepted.

An $11 return-shipping and processing fee applies to eligible returns and exchanges. For a refund, the fee will be deducted from the refunded amount. For an exchange, any applicable fee or price difference must be paid before the replacement is shipped.

The $11 fee does not apply when we approve a claim because an item arrived damaged, has a genuine manufacturing defect, or is not what you ordered.

Please retain your return tracking information. Lorena Morales Studio is not responsible for returns lost or damaged while in transit.

Exchanges are subject to product, size, color, and textile availability. Due to the limited nature of our collections, we cannot guarantee that a replacement will be available.

Once the original item has been received and inspected, we will confirm whether the exchange has been approved.

If the requested replacement is unavailable, you may select another eligible item or receive a refund to your original payment method.

Any difference in price must be paid before the replacement item is shipped.

Refunds

After your return has been received and inspected, we will notify you whether the refund has been approved.

Approved refunds will be issued to the original payment method, less the $11 return-shipping and processing fee. Original shipping charges are nonrefundable.

The fee and original shipping charge will not be deducted when we approve a refund because an item arrived damaged, has a genuine manufacturing defect, or is not what you ordered.

Please allow 5–10 business days for the refund to appear in your account after it has been issued. Processing times vary depending on your bank or credit-card provider.

In-stock orders may be canceled only before they have been fulfilled or shipped. Made-to-order pieces may be canceled only before production has begun.

Once an order has been fulfilled, shipped, or entered production, customer-requested cancellations cannot be accepted.

If we are unable to ship an order within its stated processing or production time, we will contact you with a revised estimated shipping date and the option to accept the delay or cancel the unshipped order for a full refund.
