The Mitla textile is handwoven by Cocijo in San Pablo Villa de Mitla, Oaxaca, México, using 100% cotton colored with natural dyes. Traditionally worn by women as a ceremonial enredo, its woven symbols carry ideas of life, abundance, and the cultural memory of Mitla. For this jacket, the textile is presented in red and black.

Set against white cotton denim, the textile brings its cultural meaning into a clean, slim-fitting silhouette. A shirt collar, front button closure, buttoned cuffs, chest flap pockets, and side pockets complete the jacket. The finished piece becomes a contemporary vessel for the textile, carrying its meaning and generational knowledge forward through art you can wear.

Created in limited quantities, each jacket is individually composed around the handwoven textile. Natural variations in the textile, denim, finish, color, and handwork mean the finished garment may differ slightly from the images shown. These differences give each piece its own character.
